I understand that you might think

That poems aren't for you.

If I'm being truly honest

I felt the same way too

But I found myself having a go

To write a verse or two

And I found myself a whole new world

A thing I love to do.

I thought I couldn't do it,

That you had to be dead clever

And use fancy, flowery language.

That's what I thought, however...

I've discovered that just isn't true

And you can just be who you are.

To have a go, and have a laugh

The most important things by far.

You just write down what inspires you,

What you think and feel inside.

It can help you get things off your chest

Or make sense of your life.

Sometimes you write a poem that really makes you proud 

And you get the satisfaction of reading it out loud.

But the thing that I love most of all, is YOU choose what you do.

Your poems are uniquely yours,

They can't take that from you!

So if you'd like to have a go

At The Living Room in Boroughbridge we have room to seat around fifteen to twenty people however we feel that in order to relax comfortably and enjoy the space we are looking for around ten or so attendees in person. To join us in person please add yourself to the mailing list and we will connect with you regularly to provide updates on when and where we are meeting, as sometimes we may just venture out into the wilderness to explore the effect of nature and other environments upon the creative flow.
